Are you an ambitious Bid Writer looking for more autonomy, trust and career development?

Would you like to work remotely, aside from the occasional meeting in Manchester?

If you answered yes to the above questions, then this opportunity could be just for you!

Job title: Bid Writer

Location: Remote with occasional meetings at their HQ in Manchester

Salary: £28k - £37k depending on experience plus £5k - £8k bonus scheme

Benefits: Pension, Life Assurance, Healthcare cash back plan, maternity, paternity or adoption leave, holiday buy plan, support with career and professional development

•           Our client are a leading construction equipment hire company who are committed to delivering Safety, Value, Availability, and Support to each of their customers and they are constantly innovating to make hiring the best equipment as simple as possible.

•           Culture: I’d best describe their culture as supportive and personable with an emphasis on collaboration and trust. Their Bid function tend to work mainly remotely with a couple of days a month in the office. I would describe the Line Manager (Head of Bids) as friendly, supportive and straight talking.

The opportunity:

•           Due to the current Bid Writer being headhunted for a Bid Manager position (by us), my client is now looking to take on a new Bid Writer. (Current Bid Writer has spoken very highly of them as an employer!)

•           It is also worth noting that the Head of Bids (who you would be reporting into), is very ambitious and has plans to move up within the organisation in around 2 years time. He would welcome someone hungry for career development as he would ideally like to nurture the Bid Writer to be able to take on his role when he moves up.

Responsibilities will include but wont be limited to:

•           Supporting with a high volume of bid activity. This includes contributing to the end-to-end process on local government tenders, such as Manchester City Council and multi-million-pound tenders such as Amey, Mitie, Mace, and ISG.

•           Reviewing RFPs to ensure all requirements are addressed and win themes are incorporated.

•           Attending proposal development meetings and collaborating with key stakeholders such as the legal team, finance department, product team, and HSEQ to enhance responses.

•           Developing language, specific product information, and retrieving pricing components to combine recourses to ensure each proposal reflects the requirements of the client.

•           Liaising with businesses to ensure exceptional customer service to provide direction, and vision, and motivate and inspire others to achieve the businesses’ goal.

•           Creating a client-oriented strategy in each bid response, tailoring all responses to the customer’s specific needs to ensure the utmost client satisfaction.

•           Creating graphics for proposals, executive summaries, and sales presentations.
